E. J. Goodson, 85, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born February 24, 1925 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Eva Freeze Goodson and Fred Master Goodson.
Mr. Goodson was a graduate of Cleveland High School. A veteran of the United States Navy, he served on the USS LST 138, during two days of D Day. A carpenter by trade, he worked for Q. H. Wood and Lonnie Goodman.
He was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Gloria Ree Cauble Goodson, who died February 10, 2008 and brother, Claude Goodson.
Survivors include sons, Ricky Jay Goodson (Bonnie) and Dennis James Goodson, all of Salisbury; daughter, Sharon Lea Parks (Todd) of Kannapolis; sister, Viola Myers of Salisbury; grandson, Chandler Logan Parks; and granddaughter, Carissa MaKayla Parks.
Graveside Service: 3:00 PM - Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Rowan Memorial Park. The Rev. Fred Clarkson will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Rowan County Honor Guard.
