Annie Laurie Bostian Cooke, 100, of Spencer passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Magnolia Gardens Nursing Home.
Born in Rowan County on December 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Jennie Atwell Bostian and Edward Bostian.
Annie Laurie was a 1936 graduate of Boyden High School. She was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She held a class at Magnolia Gardens once a month.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Cooke, five brothers, one sister and one grandchild.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dorothy Leonard of Suffolk, VA; sisters, Pauline Williams of Salisbury, Helen Shue of Salisbury; granddaughter, Nicole Miller of Chesapeake, VA.
Visitation: 10:30-11:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Coburn United Methodist Church, 901 S. Church St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
Service: 11:00 AM Saturday at Coburn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Owens officiating. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Salisbury at 11:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
