Bonnie Jean Terry, 90, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born in Williamsburg, KY on September 23, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Mary Slaton Paul and Hubert Paul.
Bonnie was a graduate of Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, MI. She owned DJ’s Restaurant and the Stadium Club and worked as a collector in the insurance industry. Bonnie was involved in politics and was President of Women’s Little League.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis James Terry; brothers, Tom and Ted Paul; sister, Estel Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Sam Terry, whom she married on February 16, 1955; sons, Danny Paul Terry (Diana) of California, Devin Charles Terry (Angela) of Raleigh, Donald Joe Terry of Richmond, VA; daughters, Kimberly Sue Rutka (Galen) of Wisconsin, Candice Jo Jakob (Mick); brother, William Junior Paul (Sue) of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; sister, Margaret Lord of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Samuel Rutka, Katie Frances Enrico, David Jakob, Shannon Jakob, Danny Terry, Jr., Ryan Ilene Terry, Spencer Terry, Nicolette Mano, James Terry and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 12:00-1:45 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.
Service: 2:00 PM Thursday at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle with the Rev. Steve Holshouser officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, 8675 Hwy 52, Rockwell, NC 28138 .
