Brian Smith Obituary

Brian Wayne Smith, 55, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his residence after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Rowan County on August 11, 1963, he was the son of the late Lois Goodman Smith and Bill Harrison Smith.

Brian attended West Rowan High School. He enjoyed helping people, especially cooking for charity benefits. He worked for Freightliner for 23 years and earlier at Daniel’s Construction at Fiber Industries and Bringle Butchery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Scott Rabon.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debbie Minor Smith, whom he married on April 1, 2015; daughter, Meagan Smith Rabon (Travis) of Richfield; step children, Jennifer Mitchem of Advance, Steven Mitchem, Jr. (Monica) of Charlotte, Heather Mitchem (Kevin Powell) of Harmony, brothers, Bill Smith, Jr. of Woodleaf, Barry Smith (Pam) of Salisbury; sister, Roxanne Smith of Woodleaf; grandchildren, Corbin, Kaylee, Nolan, Grayson and Claire and many special friends that are considered family and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life: 1:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at UAW Local 3520, 2290 Salisbury Rd., Statesville, NC 28677 with the Rev. Frank Antonitis officiating.

Memorials may be made to Rowan County Relay for Life.
