Doris Briggs Weaver

Doris Briggs Weaver, age 79, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with bone cancer.  

Doris was a loving wife, mother, sister and Nana. She loved flowers and needlework. She was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church and was involved with the Altar Guild, choir, and S.W.I.F.T.(Salem Women In Faith Together) and the Keenage Club.   She attended Mt Ulla High School class of 1957 and the Southeastern Beauty School where she graduated with a degree to work as a hairdresser and electrolysis.

Doris was born to the late Clarence Albert Briggs and the late Myrtle Barger Briggs.  She married Gene Weaver on June 28, 1959.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mark Weaver (Lori) of Salisbury, grandsons, Nick Weaver and Drew Leazer (Amber) Great-grandchildren Kayden and Makayla, one sister, Betty Puckett (Guy) of Salisbury, one brother, Donald Briggs (Linda) of Salisbury.

Visitation- Sunday, April 8, 2018, from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM at Salem Lutheran Church Parlor with a service to follow at 4:00 P.M. conducted by the Rev. Dawn Rister.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials: can be made to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC
