Fred Carson King, 70, of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born July 19, 1948, in Randolph County, Georgia and was a 1969 graduate of West High School in Wilkes County. Fred was the son of the late Addie Leatrice Davis King and the late James Henry King, Sr. He served our country in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with the Rowan and Wilkes County Sherriff’s Departments, Salisbury Police Department and was currently employed with the P&G Courier Security Company.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a brother, James H. King, Jr.
Fred is survived by his daughters, Summer King Hatley (Todd) of Charleston and Mandy King Barber (Carey) of Woodleaf, seven grandchildren, sister-in-law Audrey Sue King, and a nephew, Steve King of Wilkesboro.
A military graveside service will be held on November 12, 2018, at 9:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery with a military chaplain officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
