Garner Ray Myers, 82, of Salisbury passed away Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury after two years of declining health.
Born in Rowan County, on April 28, 1936, to the late Clarence Garner “Pete” Myers and Carrie Brown Myers. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Ronny Myers, his half- sister, Pauline E. Benfield and a half- brother, Dallas Everett.
Ray was a 1954 graduate of Cleveland High School. He was self-employed he owned and operated a delivery service for 28 years. He attended Trinity Baptist Church in Mocksville, NC, he was very talented and could repair just about anything. He loved Football, Baseball, and NASCAR Racing, a devoted Christian and family man, he also enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends.
Those who will forever cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Sue Holder Myers, his son, Randy Myers (Vickie) of Salisbury, daughter, Leslie Myers (Lorne) of Buckley, Washington, son, Rodney Myers of Salisbury, brother, Nelson B. Myers (Betty) of Salisbury, granddaughter that brought so much joy to his life, Chelsea Pope (James), great-grandson, and great-grandaughter, Jay and Eden Pope all of Portland, Oregon.
Service: 2:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2722 U.S. Highway 601 South, Mocksville, NC 27028 with the Rev. Darrell Cox officiating.
