Horace Frenchie Barnette, 51, of Mocksville passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Henderson Co., NC on December 23, 1967, he was the son of the late Katherine Marie Fletcher Barnette and Horace Frenchie Barnette, Sr.
Horace owned Barnette’s Remodeling and attended South River United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, shooting pool, spending time with family and camping. He loved his dogs, especially Polly and enjoyed traveling, the mountains and the outdoors. Horace liked working with his hands and remodeling houses. He loved to tell jokes, and was known as quite a jokester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, John Wayne Mayhew.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patty Shaver; children, Patricia Rodgers (Maynard), Thomas Settlemyer (Tabitha) and Joseph Settlemyer (Crystal); sisters, Teresa Hayes (Ronnie), Kathy Barnette, Sharon Barnette and Gail Johnson (Kevin); 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Service: South River United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike officiating.
