James Hoy Beaver, 90, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Laurels of Salisbury.
Born on January 20, 1928 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Lula Stirewalt Beaver and William J. Beaver.
Mr. Beaver was a veteran of the US Army. He worked as a nursing assistant at the Salisbury VA Medical Center. After retirement, he made deliveries for Southern States. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Beaver and sisters, Belle Kluttz and Fay Torrence.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vernice McDaniel Beaver, who he married in 1950; daughter, Cynthia B. Wilson (Jimmy) of Salisbury; sisters, Pearl B. Hampton of China Grove and Catherine Funderburke of Rockwell; grandchildren, Heather Bean (Phillip) of Cleveland, Stephanie Landsdell (Scott) of Lexington, Ryan Wilson (Daisey Overcash) of Mooresville and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 3:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Salem Lutheran Church Parlor, 5080 Sherrills Ford Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147.
Service: Friday, April 27, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dawn Rister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors performed by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
