James Hau Obituary

James M. Hau, 84, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born in Puerto Rico on July 10, 1934, he was the son of the late Mercedes Aponte Hau and Auturo Hau.

A veteran of the US Air Force, he retired after 23 years of service with a tour of Korea and two tours of Vietnam. He also retired from Reynolds Aluminum after 19 years. James was a member of the American Legion.

Those left to cherish his memories are; wife Edeltraud Hau, whom he married December 30, 1980; daughters; Victoria Slusser (Mark), Michele Hau-Hafner, and Nina Hockman (Bill); sons; Jim Hau and Dirk Kumashiro; sisters, Krimilda Hau and Elizabeth Velez; grandchildren, Jason Slusser (Kimberly), Lora Griffin (Nathan), Kyle Slusser (Paola), Joe Hockman (Amber), Shelly Stowell (Zack), Tyler Hockman, April Hafner, Finn Knofell; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Slusser, Alayna Slusser, Madalinn Griffin, Mason Hockman, Tucker Stowell, Bowen Stowell, Maddox Stowell.
