Jean Chapman Beckom, 90, of Spencer passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Born in Rowan County on January 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Emily Orelle Forrest Chapman and Robert Roscoe Chapman.
Mrs. Beckom was a homemaker and a member of Faith Fellowship Church. She volunteered with Rowan Helping Ministries and Meals on Wheels and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. “T.H.” Beckom; brother, Bob Chapman and sister-in-law Rachel Chapman; grandson, Jerry Chad Brooks; son-in-law, Donald R. McSwain; brother-in-law, Reid Goodson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sylvia Brooks (Jerry) of Mooresboro, Vicki McSwain of Polkville; brother, Thomas W. Chapman (Judy) of Salisbury; sister, Julia C. Goodson of Spencer; grandchildren, Jay Brooks, Brandi M. Davis (Ricky), Joy B. Woods (Joe), Tifani M. Dorsey (Tyler), Christopher D. McSwain; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jayson, Laurel, Donivan, Kaylah, Coriana, Ainsley; great-great-grandchildren, Emma and Lily.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00 PM Friday, June 29, 2018 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.
Service: 2:00 PM Friday at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
