Kathryn Jennings Lingle, 79, of Salisbury passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at her residence.
Born in Rowan County on January 19, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Victor Jennings and Susie Waddell Jennings.
Kathryn attended China Grove High School and on March 2, 1957, married her soulmate, Terry W. Lingle. She was a member of the Spencer Moose Lodge, the Horseless Carriage Club (Model “T” club) and Salem Lutheran Church since 1957. Kathryn was retired from Pioneer manufacturing and loved dancing at The New Country Sound, bowling with the Coffee League, and playing canasta. Camping, gardening, sewing, playing pool, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and fishing at the beach and lake were some of her favorite pastimes. Kathryn and Terry put many miles on their camping van traveling across the United States.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Smith, Bonnie Martin and Dot Hattaway.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Terry W. Lingle; daughters, Sheila Hoffman (Hank) and Patricia Easley, both of Salisbury; son, Nelson Lingle (Cathy) of Salisbury; brother, Gerald “Preacher” Jennings; sisters, Iris Porterfield and Frances Jennings; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 2:00-3:10 PM Friday, August 2, 2019 at Salem Lutheran Church, 5080 Sherrills Ford Rd., Salisbury, NC 28147.
Service: 3:30 PM Friday August 2, 2019 at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dawn Rister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
