Louise Edwards Smith, 75 of Greensboro went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday November 27, 2019 surrounded by her family at her residence. What a beautiful home going it was.
Louise "Weezer" was born in Yancey Co NC, daughter of the late Pansy Wilson Edwards and Martin Edwards.
Louise spent her life as a caregiver for many years, previously to that she worked as a waitress and owned her own cleaning service. Her life was of the most giving, compassionate and selfless spirit as she always placed others first. She was of The Baptist Faith, an avid fisherwoman, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a special aunt to many, many nieces and nephews. Louise was known for her irresistible cooking, homemade chicken and dumplings, and homemade bbq which she served at every hosted Pig Pickin'. Louise was an ever present part of so many lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Smith; brothers, Paul Edwards, J.C. Edwards, George “Holly” Edwards and Howard Edwards; sisters, Jesse Bradford, Geraldine Wilson, and Martha Adkins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Edward Smith, Jr. of Greensboro; daughters, Kimberly Mosher (Dave Shingler) of Randleman, NC, Tammy Smith Sponaugle (Brent) of Blue Grass, VA; goddaughter, Judy Martin of Madison, NC; brother, Charlie Edwards (Gay) of Cleveland, NC; sister-in-law, Carolyn Edwards of Mt. Ulla, NC; grandchildren, Tanner Mosher, Therron Mosher, Katelyn Smith and Mason Smith; great-grandchildren, Chasity Wager Mosher and T.J. Mosher.
Visitation: 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon Friday, November 29, 2019, at Charity Baptist Church, 1912 NC Hwy 150 N, Lexington, NC 27295.
Service: 12:00 Noon Friday at Charity Baptist Church with Preacher Jeff Mabe and Brother Brady Lowery officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
