Maxine Scott Casper, 90, of 820 Klumac Rd., Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Born May 16, 1929, in Forsyth County, she was one of five children born to A.J. and Notie Glass Scott. She was educated at Clemmons School.
Maxine was very active in the church and was on the steering committee to help form Community In Christ Lutheran Church at Lake Norman. She was a den mother at Haven Lutheran Church and taught den mothers in the council. Maxine worked as Assistant Director of Recreation in Salisbury for 10 years where she organized many groups and worked with Senior Citizens, the deaf, blind and handicapped and preschool. For 25 years Maxine served as part time secretary for Lutheran Men in the Synod. Maxine always loved flowers and had a smile for everyone.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Luther Paul Casper, by 2 loving sons Edward Paul Casper and Ronald Scott Casper, her precious grandson Travis Ward Casper.
Survivors include son Donald Ray Casper, (Ruthie), grandson Brandon Casper (Megan), great grandchildren Madison and Landon, all of Salisbury and sister Betty Harrill of Winston-Salem, NC.
Visitation: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Monday, January 6, 2020 at Christiana Lutheran Church 6190 US-52, Salisbury, NC 28146.
Service: 12:00 PM Monday at Christiana Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carl M. Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
