Ahmad Qaasim Abdullah of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Friday December 1, 2023, at the age of 66.
Ahmad was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but was a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina for the last 17 years.
Mr. Abdullah is preceded in death by his mother Zelle Brown; his brothers Parnell Brown and Leroy Brown; and his sisters Alfreda July, Ester Williams, and Martina Brown.
He is survived by his son, Ahmad Abdullah of Ramstein, Germany; stepdaughter Sierra Stewart of AL; his brothers Joe McPhaul of Greensboro, NC and Waverly Brown of Philadelphia, PA; his sisters, Bernice Smullen of MD and Inell Joyner of VA; his niece Janet Bost of NC; two granddaughters; as well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews, a wide array of friends, and fellow veterans.
As a Veteran of the Gulf War, he served his nation proudly and is most deserving of Dignity, Honor, and Respect. 82nd Airborne Division “All the Way”! Ahmad “Drake” shined like a bright light in the lives of many. He will always be remembered, and truly missed.
Mr. Abdullah will be buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at a later date.
