Alton Barnes Cline, 91, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born in Rowan County on November 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Frances Morgan and Noah Franklin Cline.
Mr. Cline worked for Crowder Construction Company of Charlotte, and earlier worked for Brady Overcash Construction. He enjoyed farming and operating heavy equipment, primarily the crane at the Martin Marietta Rock Quarry in Woodleaf. He was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church where he was active in all church phases.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey Cline Winecoff; brothers, Nevin and Cecil Cline; son-in-law, Doug Gullett.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amanda Cline of Salisbury; son, Mike Cline (Jill) of Atlantic, NC; daughter, Penny Gullett of Salisbury; brothers, Walt Cline (Nettie) of Cleveland and Jim Cline of Statesville; sisters, Ruth Culp of Faith, NC and Sally Hampton of West Virginia; sister-in-law, Hilda Cline of El Paso, TX; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2:45-3:45 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Lebanon Lutheran Church, 1200 Thompson Rd, Cleveland, NC 27013. Service will begin at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Carroll Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
