Ann Meacham Obituary

On Tuesday, June 20, 2023, our beloved Ann M. Gantt Meacham, aged 90, passed away at Trinity Oaks Senior Living. She was born on September 14, 1932, in Spencer, NC.

A Rowan County native, Ann was a steadfast beacon of love and devotion to her family and her community. She married her high school sweetheart, Bill Meacham, in 1948 and together they built a life of community service in Salisbury. Over the course of their 70-year-long marriage, they raised three sons in the home Bill built himself on Faith Road. Ann's love for Bill was unwavering, even after his passing in 2019. Today, they are peacefully reunited.

Ann was a woman of many talents. She was not only a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother but also an accomplished artist and homemaker. Her hands crafted hundreds of intricate, beaded Christmas ornaments and her kitchen was the birthplace of many cherished family recipes each lovingly written in her beautiful script. Every handmade item she generously gifted was a testament to her creativity and caring nature. Now, these items serve as cherished tokens of her love and boundless creativity.

Ann is preceded in death by her father Roy William Gantt, mother Ottie Bell York, her siblings Ronnie Joel, Ruth Carol, Donna, Bernice, and Ralph, her dear husband William Meacham Sr, and her son William Franklin Meacham, Jr.

She leaves behind her sons, David Lawrence Meacham (Miyoung) of Richmond, VA and Charles Howard Meacham (Sandy) of Salisbury, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on July 1, from 10 am -11 am at Christiana Lutheran Church, 6190 Hwy 52, Salisbury, NC 28146. The service will commence at 11 am, officiated by Rev Dr. Keith Less, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W.
