Barbara Dennis Miller

Barbara Dennis Miller passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 76.

She was born on December 28, 1948, in Rowan County to the late Norma T. Dennis and Arthur B. Dennis.

Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Boyden High School and of Salisbury Business College. She worked as a substitute teacher with Rowan Salisbury School Systems for over 30 years. She was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as the church custodian for over 50 years. Barbara also served many years with the Ladies Auxiliary of Locke Fire Department and with the Rowan Museum, serving to preserve the China Grove Roller Mill. She loved camping, going to Kure Beach, painting ceramics, and baking and cooking. She also loved watching her granddaughter play volleyball.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years John R. Miller, Jr.; children Amy M. Hoffner (Keith) and Emily M. Beaver (Gary); and granddaughter Sophie Kate Hoffner.

The visitation will be held from 10:00-11:45am on Thursday September 11, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 3020 Grace Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147. The funeral will be at noon in the sanctuary, conducted by Rev Joshua Copeland. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Grace Lutheran Church general fund.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff of Wallace Cancer Center, Levine Cancer Center, and Glenn Kiser Hospice House.

Barbara will be forever remembered for her smile and loving presence.
