Barbara Jean Gray Sackett, born April 10, 1932, in High Point, North Carolina, to Maggie Onita Moser Gray and Edward Moyer Gray, passed away on April 12, 2025.
Barbara attended Bain School in Mint Hill, North Carolina. She worked as a waitress at Douglas Airport and was a skilled doll maker. A passionate traveler, she explored many countries before retiring to Bullhead City, Arizona. Barbara enjoyed the excitement of gambling, particularly playing video poker, and held a special fondness for Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Sheldon Sackett Sr.; her daughter, Cheryl Debra Klaith; her sons, Coy Lee Keziah and George Sheldon Sackett Jr.; daughters-in-law, Betty Keziah; and siblings, Bill Gray, Gary Gray, and Victoria Heigler.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Desrochers and her husband Al Desrochers of New Hampshire, and Rebecca Hiatt and her husband Timothy Hiatt of Salisbury; her brother, Johnny Gray of Virginia; daughter-in-law Marguerite Sackett of Salisbury; son-in-law Gregory Klaith of Salisbury; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family has chosen to remember Barbara privately, and therefore, a service will not be held. Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated. Barbara will be returned to Arizona, to rest alongside her husband. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Lyerly Funeral Home for their compassionate assistance during this time
