Betty Jean (Swink) Lingle

Betty Jean Swink Lingle passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 92.

She was born on July 9, 1932, in Rowan County to the late Robie and Daisy Swink.

Betty loved her Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her family, traveling, and singling gospel music. She especially loved Christmas and would always wrap up lots of presents for her family and they got a “kick” out of her labeling some of them from “Stanta Claus”. She enjoyed cooking and would always cook enough to feed an army.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Oscar T. “O.T.” Lingle; her son Bruce A. Manning; and her daughter Judith “Judi” E. Manning.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Timothy D. Manning and daughter-in-law Tammy Manning; her grandchildren Timothy C. Manning (Megan) and Jordan Manning (Michelle); her great grandchildren Chase, Sawyer, and Samuel Manning; and her nephew Ronnie Huffman (Wanda).

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday January 24, 2025, at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
