Bobbie Brandon Mason, 92 of Salisbury NC passed away Wednesday September 21st at the Autumn Care Nursing Home.
Born July 10, 1930 in York County S.C., she was the daughter of the late Pearl Wright Brandon and William Sylvester “Vess” Brandon.
Mrs. Mason was a faithful lifelong member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Salisbury. Throughout her life, she supported and worked alongside her husband through several business ventures in Rowan County in retail sales and would often work opposite shifts with him while maintaining the home and children. She also found time to volunteer to the Salvation Army to help others in need. She was an avid cook and enjoyed cooking for the family and grandkids. She was a dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Carolina Panthers and would always take time to watch them play.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Norton Mason Jr, whom she married on February 18,1956 and sisters, Thelma Brandon Harris, Faye Brandon Stone and brothers William Fred Brandon, James Leonard Brandon, Charles Henry Brandon, and Ronald Hunter Brandon.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Norton Mason III and wife Lori Starnes Mason of Locust, Bruce Brandon Mason of Indian Trail, daughter, Pamela Mason Christie of Salisbury; sister, Lucille Brandon Simpson of North Charleston SC; grandchildren, Dustin Shaun Mason of Locust NC, Spencer Kyle Mason and wife Rebecca Stogner Mason of Stanly Co. NC, Bruce Brandon Mason Jr of Monroe, Mackenzie Mason Schelling and husband Gerald “Bo” Schelling of Peachland NC and Carmen Elisabeth Christie of Salisbury; great-granddaughter, Oaklyn Christine Mason of Stanly Co. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 1:45 PM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd Salisbury, NC 28144. Graveside service will follow in the park cemetery at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Margret Almeida.
