Bobby Sutphin Obituary

Bobby Ray Sutphin, 77, of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

Born in Floyd, VA on September 20, 1944, he was the son of the late Azzilee Sutphin and Lawrence J. Sutphin.

Mr. Sutphin was self-employed in the construction industry. He enjoyed reading, playing golf, camping, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charlie Holt; sisters, Nancy Gossett, Nellie Hill, Gloria Brewer, and Elizabeth Helms; brothers, Willie, Jimmy, and Ernest.

Left to cherish his memory are his companion for 33 years, Patsy Gallimore; sons, Bobby Sutphin of Salisbury, Cliff Sutphin of Salisbury, and Wayne Holt of Benson; daughter, Ginger Jenkins (Johnny) of Statesville; brothers, Kenneth Sutphin (Shannon) of Randleman and Wayne Sutphin (June) of Woodleaf; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
