Carl Doyle Wilson Jr.

Carl Doyle Wilson Jr. of Granite Quarry, age 56, passed away after a short battle with cancer at his home on December 23, 2025.

He was born on December 29, 1968, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to father Carl Doyle Wilson Sr and mother Jayne Phillips Thompson (stepfather Malcolm “Eddie” Thompson).

Carl was educated at Rowan Salisbury Schools and worked in construction and carpentry. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing, but his greatest was being called “Paw” by KJ.

He is preceded in death by his son Connor Wilson, sister Evette Wilson, and stepfather Eddie Thompson.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother Jayne Thompson, brother Malcom Thompson (Paula), sister April Freeze (Alex), sister Carla Broughton (Bryant), son Caleb Wilson (Chandelle), daughter Carleigh Airheart (Kyle), and grandson KJ Airheart.

A memorial service will be held Monday December 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC, with pastor Steve Holshouser officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.
