Carolyn Virginia (Earnhardt) Cress

Carolyn Virginia Earnhardt Cress passed away on February 17, 2024, at the age of 87.

She was born on March 18, 1936, in Rowan County to the late Charlie Earnhardt Sr. and Virginia Russ.

Carolyn was a driver for the Rowan County School System. She was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was active in all church functions.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Eugene Cress Sr. (3-3-14); her brothers, Charlie Earnhardt Jr., and Delmar Earnhardt; and her sisters, Patricia Earnhardt Bowers, Delcie Earnhardt Smith, and Doris Earnhardt Carter.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Bobby Eugene Cress Jr. (Patricia) of Gibson; her daughters Cheryl Cress Palmer of Woodleaf and Andrea Cress of Salisbury; her brother Grady Earnhardt (Jenny) of Salisbury; her sister Ruth Earnhardt Julian of Salisbury; her 3 grandchildren, Ricky Murphy Jr., Bonnie Cress, and Cory Cress; and her 2 great-grandchildren Jordan Murphy and Kelsie Murphy.

A visitation will be held 1:00-1:45 pm on Thursday February 22, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 205 St Paul Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146. A service will be at 2:00 pm. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Ryman. The burial will occur at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
