Claudia "Sue" Hartsell

Claudia Sue Hartsell passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 86.

She was born on August 18, 1939, in Rowan County to the late James Arthur Graham and Thelma Faye Kluttz Graham.

Sue was a student at Cleveland High School. She was the business owner of West Rowan Grill. Sue grew up as a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church and upon marriage became a member of Cleveland Presbyterian Church. She loved reading, baking, working in her garden, and going to her mountain home.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life her husband Billy Joe Hartsell and her brother Ralph Arthur Graham.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Scott Hartsell (Linda) of Cornelius, NC, Kim Hartsell Pryor (Steve) of Mooresville, NC, and Lori Hartsell; her brother Jerry Graham (Mary Lee) of Ocala, FL; her sisters Doris Owens (Lonnie) of Statesville, NC and Alice McDaniel (Penny) of Salisbury, NC; her grandchildren Bryson Pryor (Sterling), Jeremy Pryor (Brandi) of Salisbury, NC, Andrea Godwin (James) of Cleveland, NC, Eli Godwin (Whitney) of Greensboro, NC, Zachary Godwin of Salisbury, NC, and Alexandria Hartsell of Miami, FL; and her great-grandchildren Justice Godwin, Berkley Pryor, Kennedy Pryor, Ayden King, and Brooks Pryor.

A memorial will be held on December 16th, 2025, at 11:00am at Cleveland Presbyterian Church, 101 Maple St, Cleveland, NC 27013.
