Curtis Douglas "Doug" Seamon, 93, of Cooleemee, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 23, 2026, passing peacefully after a long and full life.
Born on May 8, 1933, Doug was a devoted husband, loving father, and a faithful follower of Jesus. He found great joy in the simple things—especially spending countless hours piddling at his garage with "his junk," going to thrift stores and yard sales, and always looking to haggle for a better price. His family will deeply miss his wisdom, his kindness, and the steady guidance he gave to everyone he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas W. Seamon and Maude Munday Seamon Powlas; his eight brothers and sisters; his beloved grandson, Brandon Koontz; and his great-granddaughter, Ava Tester.
Doug is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carolyn Lankford Seamon. His legacy carries forward through his children: Wayne Seamon (Cindy), Jeanette Tester (Junior), Wendy Koontz (Michael), and Ashley Seamon; as well as his three grandsons, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Center Methodist Church, 1857 Hwy 64 W. Mocksville, with Pastor Jesse Teal officiating, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Chris Goodman and Nurse Sally for their dedicated care and support.
To honor Doug's memory, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
