Cynthia Ann Ervin

Cynthia A. Ervin passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 65.

She was born on March 29, 1960, in Asheville NC to Joyce Ownbey (Grooms) and the late Russell Ownbey.

Cynthia worked as a secretary for Estes express lines for over 20 years.

Cindy loved the simple things that made life feel full—camping and fishing, planting flowers each spring, and making her home warm and welcoming. She especially cherished quiet moments on her front porch, watching the hummingbirds gather. But nothing brought Cindy more happiness than being with her family. She was incredibly proud of them and loved them deeply, fiercely, and without condition. The love she shared is what truly defined her.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love remains forever.

She is preceded in death by her father, Russell Ownbey, and brothers Randy Ownbey and Ronnie Ownbey.

Left to cherish her memory is her spouse of almost 46 years, Joseph Ervin, daughters Joanna Gyier (Ray) of Salisbury NC, and Ashley Simpson (Dock) of Salisbury NC, sister Diana Pittman of Salisbury, grandchildren Joey, Ariell, Camron, Kayla, Tyler, Crislyn, Emma, and great grandson Kamdyn.

A visitation will be held Saturday, January 31st at 1:00PM at the home of Ashley Simpson. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 PM.

The family will be hosting friends and family at their residence after the service has been concluded.
