David “Dave” Lee Dunford

David “Dave” Lee Dunford passed away at the Rowan Medical Center on November 25, 2025, at the age of 64.

He was born on June 9, 1961, in Wythe County, VA to the late Alma Sue Waller Dunford and Donald Harvey Dunford.

Dave was a student at Rural Retreat High School in Rural Retreat, VA. He worked as a Process Technician. He loved all sports, particularly golf and fishing. He was a fan of Dale Earnhardt, the Washington Redskins, and the Hokies. Dave enjoyed spending time at the beach. He was a lover of life and dearly loved his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 11 years Amy Dunford of Salisbury; daughter Jessica Peeler (Tony) of Salisbury; step-daughter Amber Mullis (Scott) of Lexington; brother Kenny Dunford of Wytheville, VA; sister Tina Umberger (Jeff) of Wytheville, VA; grandchildren Mason Peeler, Aubrey Peeler, Tanner Mullis, and Gage Mullis; nieces Brooke, Taylor, and Syndey; as well as his uncles, numerous cousins, and the close friends that he loved dearly.
