Obituary

Donald Ray Myers, 77, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

Born in Rowan County on March 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Helen Goode and Leo Lee Myers.

Mr. Myers worked as a painter and attended the Church of Christ in Woodleaf. He liked being outdoors, farming, painting, hunting, and fishing. He was a hard worker and enjoyed being able to help others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Josie Freeman; his brothers, Bobby and Bill Melton; nephew, Tim Harris.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Donnie Myers (Erin) of Woodleaf; daughter, Debbie Smith (Brandon) of Woodleaf; brother, Buddy Melton (Sharon) of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Shirley Harris of Salisbury and Jane Criswell (Robert) of Lititz, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Bean (Danielle), Kristen Bean, David Bean, Riley Myers, Aidan Myers, and Lucas Myers; great grandchildren, Allison Parks, Caseyn Bean, Waylon Lanning, Landon Lanning, Bentley Bean, and two on the way.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
