Donnie Ray Smith

Donnie Ray Smith passed on to be with his heavenly father on June 12, 2026. He was born on April 6, 1946.

Donnie proudly served his country in the United States Army for 12 years, including in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol Smith of 57 years; children Duane and Fran; grandchildren Shelby, Katlyn, Austin, Hope, Hunter, and Olivia; and great-grandchildren Grayson, Ashton, Stevie, Sadie, Tucker, Boone, Weston, Blake, Grant, Walker, Monroe, and Landry.

A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Lifeway Church, 5075 US Hwy-601, Salisbury, NC 28147. The funeral service will follow from 11:30-12:00 at the church. A graveside service for immediate family only, conducted by Rev. Danny Dillard, will be held at 11:00 on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Joint Services Volunteer Honor Guard.
