Douglas Kyle Gantt, Sr., 62, of Kannapolis passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Forsyth County on February 11, 1958, he was the son of the late Dolores Jarrell Gantt and Kyle Lee Gantt, Jr.
Douglas was a 1977 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and served in the Army National Guard. He worked as a truck driver for Varner Hauling and Grading, Inc. and was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church. Douglas loved working on cars and scooters and loved to fish and dumpster dive. He loved NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and loved his fur baby, Daisy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Gantt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Jeanetta Broome of Kannapolis; son, Douglas Kyle Gantt, Jr. of Landis; daughter, Kristine Gantt of Salisbury; sister, Kyleen Harrington (Darryl) of Salisbury; granddaughter, Marina Gantt.
Memorial Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church, 4225 Vincent Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
