Dudley Ernie Denison, 78, of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at his residence.
Born in Gulfport, MS, he was the son of the late Dudley S Denison and Verdia O Denison.
He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1963 and studied at Mississippi State University from 1963-1965. He served his country in the US Air Force from June 1966 to 1970. After military service he resumed his studies at Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Business Administration. Dudley worked in Personnel for the Veteran’s Hospitals in Roanoke, Virginia, and Salisbury, North Carolina until his retirement. He and his family settled permanently in Salisbury. He was a member or Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.
He was survived by his wife Gloria Denison; daughter, Angela Silva (Samuel) in São Paulo, Brazil; son, Todd Denison (Laura) of Spencer; Step-daughters, Kateryn Pritchard (Adam) of Salisbury and Josseline Dupre (Kevin) of Rockwell; Brothers, David Denison (Anne) of Ocean Springs, MS, and Leslie (Shelley)Denison of Little Rock, AR ; sisters Elaine Rouse of Gulfport, MS and Debbie (Liz) Denison of Chimayo, NM and grandchildren: Lydia Silva, Esther Silva, Jonathan Silva, Nathan Silva, Daniel Silva, Luke Silva, Autumn Denison, Adelaide Denison, Rebecca Finnerty, Logan Loflin, Ava Pritchard, Austin Pritchard, Asher Prichard and Kevin III (Vinny) Dupre.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stocks Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC. Service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Holshouser officiating.
