Dwayne Stuart Earnhardt, 55, of Rockwell, transitioned from this earthly world into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 8, 2023.
Dwayne was born on March 30, 1968 in Rowan County, NC to Charles “Bill” and Joy Evans Earnhardt. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools and graduated from East Rowan High School in 1986. He earned his BS degree in nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1990. His professions were a stock broker and most currently a nutritionist for the Rowan County Health Department. Dwayne was a member of Union Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, gardening, fishing, and hiking as well as cycling, swimming, and weight lifting. He was the co-author of Flintknapper’s Quarterly magazine and enjoyed going to flintknaps with his father and coming up with the rubric to score arrowhead points and blades according to length and width. He also officially scored the ancient Sweet Water Blade. His motto was “learn something new each day.”
He was preceded in death by his life partner, girlfriend Maryann Gorman.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Lisa Trexler (Ty), his two nieces, Heather Reynolds (Jerry) and Victoria Trexler, a great-nephew Jack Reynolds, a lifelong friend and cousin Kevin Evans and another lifelong friend David Halpin.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
