Edward Francis Waechter Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Francis Waechter, Jr., 82, on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Born on May 26, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Edward Frank Waechter, Sr. and Vivian Sage Waechter, Ed lived a life full of love, pride, and adventure.

A proud Navy veteran, Ed served his country with dedication and was always honored to share stories of his time in service. His patriotism and love for the United States were evident to all who knew him.

Ed had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He loved taking trips in his camper, exploring both the mountains and the beach, finding peace in the beauty of nature. Family gatherings brought him immense joy, as he cherished every moment spent with those he loved.

He is survived by his beloved sisters Christine Coan of Charlotte, NC, and Rita Mushaben of Cincinnati, OH, and his ex-wife, Mercy Waechter of Charlotte. Ed was also cherished by his stepsons Carlos, Frank, and Jerry Zapata of Charlotte, who brought great joy to his life. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Edward Francis Waechter, Jr. will be remembered for his kindness, his love for family, and his adventurous spirit. He will live on in the memories of those who loved him, and he will be missed dearly.
