Emma Jean Pittman Hopson passed away on December 18, 2023, at the age of 72 after a brief illness. She was also known as “Ne-Ne” to her grandchildren and many others who she loved.
She was born on December 03, 1951, in Cabarrus County to the late Edward Pittman and Eunice Allen Pittman. Mrs. Hopson worked as a nurse for 26 years at Rowan Memorial Hospital in the Pediatric Department. “Ne-Ne” loved to work in her flower beds, read, and visit the beach. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Terri Renegar, and her brother Ricky Pittman.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 42 years, David Hopson; her daughters, Brandi Hagler (Jonathan) of Concord, and Erica Hopson of the home; her brothers Jessie Pittman (Gail) of Concord, Donald Pittman (Judy) or Myrtle Beach, SC, and Eddie Pittman of Salisbury; her sisters Retha Pepper of Salisbury, Marty Byerly of Thomasville, and Kathy Bostian of Kannapolis; as well as her 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
