Eston Shipman Doyle, 91, of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born in Stanly County on June 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Frances A. Shipman and Kennedy Pinkney Doyle.
Eston was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School and Pfeiffer College. He was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church where he was on the history committee and did a lot of work restoring the Brown House. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War. Eston was a southern gentleman. He was a very kind, loving, and soft spoken man. He was a jack of all trades and could fix almost anything.
In addition to his late wife, Gladys Doyle, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hershel Doyle, Ken Doyle, Jr., and Francis Doyle; step-mother, Mary Harrison Doyle; daughter-in-law, Ann Quinn Doyle.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Larry Doyle of Kannapolis and Keith Doyle (Billie) of Mount Airy; brother, Jerry Doyle of Kansas; grandchildren, Quinn Wilson, Katie Brennan, and Tony Smith; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 11:00 AM-12:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Christiana Lutheran Church, 6190 US Hwy 52, Salisbury, NC 28146.
Service: 12:00 PM Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Christiana Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Less officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
