Frances D. Bearden, 97, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Born in Richland, GA on July 9, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Pauline Nesmith Deas and John Whitaker Deas.
Mrs. Bearden graduated top of her high school class and retired from Rowan Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a unit secretary. She had also worked at Baptist Hospital and Davie County Hospital. Mrs. Bearden and her husband served several Methodist churches in Davie County. They also served churches in Davidson and Rowan County. She loved all of her churches and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bennie B. Bearden; grandson, David Weavil; brothers, Johnny and Benjie Deas; sisters, Mary Potter and Eunice Eichelberger.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gloria Schenk (Norman) of Salisbury and Doxie Weavil of Salisbury; grandchildren, Ben Schenk, Pam Corriher (David), and Randy Schenk (Gayla); great-grandchildren, Hailey Schenk, Morgan Corriher, and Josh Corriher and numerous nieces and nephews.
Service: 10:00 AM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Methodist Church, 141 Liberty Circle, Mocksville, NC 27028 or to the Methodist church of your choice.
