Freddie Woodrow Whirlow, 81, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his residence.

Born in Rowan County on August 11, 1939, he was the son of the late Jessie Poole Griggs and Brunell Woodrow Whirlow.

Freddie served 4 years in the US navy. He was as an automobile mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Welch Whirlow, his parents, step-father Odell Grigg and a brother Eddie Griggs.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancée Linda Beck, daughter Sandy Potts of Salisbury, grandsons Chris Gardner, Bradley Gardner, great granddaughter Lily Gardner, brother Jack Whirlow of Escondido CA, and sister Betty Myers of Campbellsville, KY.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
