Gaither Dancy Obituary

Gaither Clinton Dancy, 95, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Atrium Health of Cabarrus County.

Born in Beckley, WV on February 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Dorey Ethel Huffman Dancy and Otis P. Dancy.

Mr. Dancy served his country in the US Army as infantry in the Korean War. He worked as a mail carrier for the Kannapolis Post Office for 30 years. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Kannapolis and was a member of the Lutheran Men, the National Letter Carrier Association, and a lifetime member of the NRA. Mr. Dancy loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Williams Dancy and sister, Margie Harrington.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Clinton Eugene Dancy (Amy); daughter, Jackie Dancy Hart (Jeff); brother, Otis Sherrill Dancy; grandchildren, Justin Deaton, Adam Hart, Andrew Hart, and Clinton Bradley Dancy; great-grandchildren, Austin Deaton, Chloe Dancy, and Madison McIntyre.

Memorials may be made to New Hope Lutheran Church, 1615 Brantley Rd, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
