Gary Lee Livengood

Gary Lee Livengood, 75, of Rockwell passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.

Born in Rowan County on June 8, 1947, he was the son of the late Beatrice Hipp and Robert Livengood.

Gary was a 1967 graduate of East Rowan High School. He started working at Fiber Industries in the maintenance department and later retired form there. He loved the Lord and was a charter member of Cannan Baptist Church, attending until his health would no longer allow. Gary loved to play golf and was a big NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed working outside in his yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ethel Peacock and Nancy Hinson; brothers, Paul Livengood and Wayne Livengood; sons, Robert Livengood and Gary Lynn Livengood.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, of almost 56 years, Shirley Pinkston Livengood; son, Michael Livengood (Olivia) of Gold Hill; brother, George Livengood (Pat) of Kannapolis; daughter-in-law, Pam L. McMullen (Matt) of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Megan, Holly, and Summer Livengood of Gold Hill and Zachary Livengood (Alyssa) of Canton, GA.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
