George Sidney Sipes

George Sidney Sipes of Salisbury passed away on Friday February 13, 2026. He was born on October 18, 1953, to the late Coleman Sipes, Jr. and Mary Margaret Taylor Sipes in Statesville, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Libby Sipes of Salisbury; daughter Amber Vinson (Michael); brothers Roger Sipes of Florida and Franklin Sipes of Robins, NC; sisters Margaret Wessman (Ed) and Frances Boger (Baxter); as well as his loving granddaughters Mary and Grace Dickey.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his brothers Larry and Gene Sipes.

There was a private service on February 18, 2026, at Lyerly Funeral Home.

Dad will always be honored as his family will carry on now that they have an amazing Guardian Angel.  Hold on to knowing you’re not in pain anymore. You will always be the toughest ol’ soul I have had the honor to call my father. I love you, as well as mom and your granddaughters. Rest easy until we meet again.
