Georgia Holshouser Shuping, 78, of Salisbury passed away Saturday December 4, 2021 at her residence.
She was born August 9, 1943 to the late George Albert Holshouser and the late Edna Hipp Holshouser.
Georgia was member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, sung in the choir, was on the Church Council and Women’s Circle. She retired from the Rowan-Salisbury School System after 25 years of service. She was also an excellent creator and decorator of fine cakes. Georgia was great at taking care of her children’s individual needs. She was a great wife, mother and had a special bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Georgia was also a great seamstress. She was a great mother figure to those she worked with, along with many others.
She was the beloved wife of Charles Henry Shuping whom she was married to for 62 years. Her children include Renee` Phillips (Randall) of Taylors, SC, Shelia Lingle (Todd) of Salisbury, Dr. George B. Shuping (Wendy) of Mooresville, Jennifer Ruppe (Josh) Rutherfordton; brothers, Terry (Diane) Holshouser and Derby (Linda) Holshouser; grandchildren; Nick Cassidy, Madeline (Matt) Polskin of Simpsonville, SC, Anna and Allison Lingle of Salisbury, Lily and Scarlett Shuping of Mooresville, Caroline and Lauren Ruppe of Rutherfordton; great-granddaughter, Braylyn Lingle of Salisbury and Martha Shuping Loflin, her sister in law who was more like a sister as well as best friend.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Hartung, Matt Polskin, Jeff Shuping, Jordan Readling, Bobby Kennerly and David Holshouser.
Service: A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 7, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 2:45 in the fellowship hall of Bethel Lutheran Church, 355 E. Ridge Road, Salisbury, NC 28144. The service will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Joseph Miller and Rev. Carroll Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
