Geraldine (Holshouser) Hollar

Geraldine Holshouser Hollar, 89, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday September 27, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Cora Lail Corriher and Late Herman Ambrose Holshouser. Born on September 13, 1934, in Cabarrus County NC

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Salisbury. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1970 from the University of Tennessee. Geraldine was a history buff. She taught 5th grade for the Knoxville city school system. She was employed by the VA Hospital, IRS Treasury Division, and Corps of Engineers. She had a love for animals. She would take care of stray cats and help with getting the spayed or neutered. She enjoyed watching tennis and loved college basketball. She loved her family with her whole heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Jerry L. Hollar Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are son Jerry L. Hollar Jr, daughter Jan Leigh Hollar and brother Bill Holshouser.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
