Gladine Rebecca Key Nance, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
She was born on August 21, 1927, in Wilkes County to the late Alex Key and Alice Brown.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Junior Nance, who proudly served in the US Navy, and six older brothers.
Gladine worked at the Cannon Mills Plant #1 in Kannapolis for 40 plus years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in China Grove.
Gladine’s “Granny’s” greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren and any time she was able to go to the mountains.
Left to cherish her memory are her son James Ronald Nance (Sheila) and her daughter Pamela Siege (Geoff), both of China Grove; her grandchildren Wendy Hartsell (Tim), Aaron Nance (Ethne), Ben Siege (Donna), and Cassie Buckwalter (Justin), and her great-grandchildren Kate Hartsell, Garrett Williams, Dylan Nance, Logan Nance, Reagan Siege, Gunnar Siege, Essie Buckwalter, and Millie Buckwalter.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to the Tucker Hospice, 5005 Hospice Ln, Kannapolis, NC 28081. The family wishes to thank the staff at Tucker Hospice House for the loving care they provided.
The service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday February 4, 2024, at the Mt. Zion United Church of Christ, 1415 S Main St, China Grove, NC 28023. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Simonds. Visitation will follow the service. The burial will be at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
