Glenda Kerr Barber passed away on Wednesday June 25, 2025, at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in Spencer after about 3 years of declining health there. She was born on January 13, 1947. She graduated from north Rowan High School, where she was in the National Honor Social. After getting married, she then moved to Florida for three years before moving back to Salisbury. She remarried in 1983 to a loving husband who died in 2022.
Glenda loved the Lord and was baptized into Christ at the age of 11. She later enjoyed teaching young children in Bible class at West Innes Street Church of Christ, where she was a lifelong member. She was always willing to help people and loved to joke around. She was a big Elvis fan, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, bowling, playing cards, cooking and baking, and shopping. Even if you just met her, you knew she adored and loved her son very dearly.
Visitation and Service will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025, at West Innes Street Church of Christ, 2925 West Innes Street, Salisbury, NC 28144. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, funeral at 11:00am, with a brief graveside service following at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Comm Center Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. Paul Kirkpatrick, the Minister at West Innes Street Church of Christ, will be conducting the services.
