Glenda Gail (Custer) Spry

Glenda (Gail) Custer Spry passed away at home on January 6, 2025, at the age of 68.

She was born on August 27, 1956, in Davie County to the late Alvin Custer and Beatrice Coleman Custer.

Gail was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She loved her family as well as her camping family. She recently retired from Freightliner and earlier worked for PPG and Lexington Furniture.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her former husband Kenny Spry; her brothers Jim Nichols, John Nichols, and Kenneth (Tuff) Nichols; and her sisters Donna Whitaker and Linda Parker.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Michael (Jennifer) Spry and Darrell (Wendy) Spry of Salisbury; her brothers Jack (Phyllis) Nichols and Rodney (Kayla) Custer of Mocksville, and Dick (Florence) Nichols of New York; her sisters Marjorie Wall, Sandy (Richard) Potts, and Jeanette Custer of Mocksville; her grandchildren Elizabeth (Lam Ton) Hill, Alex Spry, Hannah (Preston) Forrest, and Jonathan Spry; and her great-grandchildren Jace Ton, Michael Spry, and Wrenley Forrest, who is on the way.

A visitation will be held from 12:00-1:45 on Thursday January 9, 2025, at Bethel Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 355 E Ridge Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144. The service will be held at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Darrell Cox. Burial will follow in the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
