Granville “Bill” Grubbs, 83, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center.
Born in Kanawha County, WV on September 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Thelma Francis Dunbar Grubbs and Ozzie Granville Grubbs.
Bill served in the US Air Force, retiring after 25 years. He also worked and retired after 20 years from Celanese. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle in Salisbury. Bill was a comedian and loved to tease his dogs and people. He was all about his grandboys. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping and fishing. Over time, his love for his family and spending time with them at sporting events were treasured moments.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, David Lee, Claudie, Carl, and Douglas Grubbs; sisters, Mary Nutter, Alma Ames, Wealtha Baldwin, and Kay Campbell.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Eva Stone Grubbs; son, Jeffrey Grubbs (Victoria); sisters, Brenda Facemyer and Dorothy Kelly; grandsons, Benjamin Grubbs and Cameron Grubbs.
Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146. Service will begin at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Steve Holshouser officiating. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens, 8625 US Hwy 52, Rockwell, NC 28138. Military honors will be conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.
