Henry Fleming Buckner Jr of Salisbury, passed away at the age of 76 on Monday February 5, 2024 at the Davidson Health and Rehab Center.
He was born on October 9, 1947, in Wilkes County to the late Ada Hux and Henry Buckner Sr.
Henry attended Boyden High School. He worked at Catawba College as a baker. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and served for 3 tours in Vietnam.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jane Husers Buckner; his stepchildren Edwina Tedder, Angela Husers, Eddie Huser Jr., and Layla Galloway; and his grandchildren Jeff Galloway, Christy Gatewood, Haven Galloway, Luna Galloway, Peighton Troublefield; and his great-great-grandchild Mason Thomas Spell.
A special thank you for the wonderful care Henry received from the staff of Davidson Health and Rehab (formerly “Alston Brooks”), Hospice of Davidson, and Dr. Sheldon.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to be given to the Rowan Humane Society and St. Jude’s.
Henry’s wishes were to have a private burial conducted by the Lyerly Volunteer Joint Services Honor Guard.
