Obituary

Howard Vernon Collins, 84, of Salisbury passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Laurels of Salisbury.

Born in Hamlet, NC on December 1, 1938, he was the son of the late Eva Lena Brigman Adkisson.

Mr. Collins was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He worked as a fixer for Cannon Mills and retired from Catawba College as a painter. He was a member of Mocksville Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Little.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice Vance Collins, whom he married on November 20, 1959, daughter, Dorothy of Salisbury, and his beloved cat, Tabby.

Visitation will be held from 2:30-3:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Mocksville Church of God of Prophecy, 2323 Highway 601 South, Mocksville NC 27028. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Jack Kivett.
