Iris Leone (Nichols) Walker

Iris L. Walker of Kannapolis passed away on Thursday May 14, 2025 at the age of 89.

She was born on March 16th, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late Lester Nichols and Dorothy Riley Nichols of Michigan. 

She graduated from Northern high school in Flint Michigan in 1954.

Iris was a devoted wife to her husband Jerry and a loving, devoted mother to her four children. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, baking, singing in the choir and her church.

We will all miss her kindness, wonderful sense of humor and her beautiful voice.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother Lester and Dorothy Nichols of Michigan as well as a sister Jane Baechler, and her oldest son Jerry W. Walker Jr. 

She is survived by her husband Jerry Walker of Kannapolis, her son Aaron Walker of Richfield, daughters Teresa Bostian of Concord and April setzer of Claremont North Carolina, grandsons Abraham Bostian of Concord and Jeremy Mullis of Claremont, granddaughter Andrea Bostian of Concord, and great-grandchild Abigail Jones of Mt. Pleasant.

She is also survived by four of her siblings Mary Churchill, Dorothy Pyrc, Patricia Stroub, her brother Stewart Nichols and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Iris will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday May 24, 2025 at Clermont Free Will Baptist Church, 4686 Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis, NC

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Clermont Free Will Baptist Church, 4686 Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis, NC
